Venture off the beaten track to some of Cambodia's more remote and untouched temples. Offering an alternative view of Angkor Wat, this one-day tour takes you further from Siem Reap to explore the jungle-covered temples of Beng Melea and fomer city of Koh Ker – an ideal trip for those have extended temple visits and wishing to escape the crowds.

Detailed Itinerary: 
Leave Siem Reap at 8am to drive the 70km to Beng Melea, passing through many rural villages and rice paddies along the way. An experienced guide will explain the history of this 12th century site as you make your way through one of the most remote and un-touched Angkor temples. Overgrown by the jungle, Beng Melea is an enthralling and peaceful place to explore and, as it is away from the main temple areas, remains relatively un-crowded.

A picnic lunch will be provided for you to enjoy under the shade of the ancient trees among the ruins.

A further one hour drive leads you to Koh Ker in Preah Vihear province, another area of abandoned temples from the 10th century. The impressive Koh Ker temple is known for its distinctive seven-stepped stupa. This is one of a total of 96 ruins that have been discovered so far, with a number still buried underground. Explore a number of these sites in the Afternoon before driving back to Siem Reap, returning around 5.30-6 pm.
