Detailed Itinerary:
Leave Siem Reap early to travel the 125km to Anlong Veng, located close to the Thai border. The area has a chequered history, having seen an influx of thousands of Khmer Rouge soldiers towards the end of the of the civil war, the trial of Pol Pot and the 'integration ceremony' welcoming many former cadres into the Cambodian Government Army. An experienced guide will explain the history of the Khmer Rouge regime as you tour many key sites around the district, including the headquarters of the last Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot's trial building and the site of his grave.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

The guide will also endeavour to arrange for an ex-Khmer Rouge soldier to be available to talk about their experiences within the regime. There is also the option later in the afternoon to travel a further 16km to the secret enclave of Pol Pot, which still remains relatively intact, and the sites of other political leaders of the era such as Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan. From Pol Pot's house, spectacular views from the cliffs overlook both Anlong Veng and the Thai border.

The tour will return to Siem Reap in evening.
